We Need Your Help & So Do The Animals!
Tails Humane Society is 100% donor and service fee funded. Our adoption fees cover only a fraction of the costs to care for and re-home the animals who temporarily call our shelter home. There are lots of ways you can help!
Volunteer
Every day, we care for over 150 animals in our shelter. Our volunteers make this possible! We offer a variety of exciting opportunities designed to provide the best quality of life for the animals in our care. We offer opportunities to work directly with our animals and also opportunities that are “behind the scenes”. Examples include fundraising event committee members or administrative support roles. Your volunteer time, regardless of your interest or assignment, will directly impact our ability to save lives.
Foster
Tails Foster program is an integral part of our mission. The shelter is no place for nursing moms and/or young puppies and kittens who cannot be fully vaccinated and are more susceptible to disease. Some adult cats and dogs have minor medical conditions that require time to heal. We find that a foster home is much less stressful on these animals and they tend to heal more quickly. We provide all the food, supplies and veterinary care and you provide the love and care. You’ll help these cuties grow in to happy, healthy pets ready to find their forever home!
Donate
Services at Tails provides only 50% of the revenue we need to provide a safe haven for over 2,800 homeless animals each year. We rely on the support and generosity of our supporters to advance our mission to create a compassionate community through the care of companion animals. Thank you for your support!

Animal Ally Program
Since 1999, Tails has been a safe haven for tens of thousands of animals. The Animal Ally Program is our membership support program. You choose from one of our giving levels and as a member you will be recognized on one of our animal enclosures.
